So... you're interested in game fishing...?
Game fishing is intoxicating... it can be the focus of extreme action, intense physical challenge, excitement, and even choreographed mayhem. It has also been unfairly described as hours and hours of boredom if there are no game fish around and you don't like watching - or worse, don't take the time to see - the cobalt blue sea rolling past in all its moods, albatrosses, shearwaters and gulls riding the wind, dolphins in their hundreds, sharks and whales sliding past your boat, and all the other things that are happening under your nose if you take the time to look on any given day.
Game fishing is best conducted as a team sport rather than a solo pursuit. It involves very big fish, big toys, a diverse group of devotees, unique fishing skills, long hours, and when conducted from the Solitary Coast of Australia, beautiful seascapes at the start of a day's fishing, and gorgeous sunsets over Australia's Great Dividing Range when returning to Coffs Harbour after a day beyond the edge of the continental shelf... so if you're looking to be part of this, check out the "Put Yourself Here" and "Crew Wanted" pages.
If you want information about the specific types of game fishing to be experienced here, and even hints on timing and good fishing techniques for these waters, there's plenty of information on the "Fishing the Solitary Coast" page. General thoughts on certain types of gear and rigs, and all kinds of other information on game fishing are also scattered around the website.
The "Logbook" reports and daily updates, and the videos and photographs are all about big game fishing in the waters along this beautiful coast.
From the Flybridge started off as a local newspaper column, and has now morphed into a daily (or thereabouts...) Logbook fishing news update that highlights recent local game fishing activity or anything else topical and considered of interest to anglers.
