Heating mechanisms in some gamefish
While fish are generally considered to be cold-blooded, billfish and certain other pelagics including tuna have specialised physiological heating systems that generate sufficiently high temperature differentials in their eyes and brains that their visual acuity and certain brain functions are significantly improved compared to how these organs would function at ambient temperatures in normal seawater like most fish.
