The Solitary Islands Game Fishing Club - Bi-monthly game fishing competition, every second and fourth Saturday from September to May. For details and contact click here to go to the Solitary Islands GFC website.

The SIGFC also holds its big Heavy Tackle Challenge tournament in March each year - details below.

The 2014 Heavy Tackle Challenge

At the time of posting this information brief and entry forms for the 2014 HTC, all the information below was correct. However, the final sponsorship details and a few other items were still under review, and the information may change slightly, so check the Solitary Islands GFC website if in doubt.

The BIG BLUE?

There's been a move to hold a sponsored north coast blue marlin tournament in early December that has been in development for some time now - it already has an organising group and a professional business plan - all it needs is a club host, and that's proving to be the sticking point. The tournament would be staged by an independent tournament organising entity and hosted by a north coast club, ideally out of Coffs Harbour. Serious prizemoney, $20K bonus for a large blue, and a unique scoring system are all on the table. The more pressure from game fishermen, the sooner it will happen. . . Stay tuned...
